中国製『Flowers』五彩花紋の壺 - 最低落札価格なし - Porcelain - China - 17世紀、移行期の順治様式だが、清朝時代
A Chinese Wucai reserve decorated 'Peonies' Chinese porcelain jar. China, most probably late 17th century, Transitional (1620-1683) period, probably Shunzhi (順治, 1643–1661) reign. Jars from this period, particularly in such excellent condition, are extremely rare. Item offered with no reserve price, you decide how much to pay.
Finely potted in ovoid shape, short neck with concave walls, base unglazed. Painted to the exterior in Wucai palette with four panels of peonies on white ground, framed by red, white and green borders, all on ground of dense iron-red scales. Wide band of and red Ruyi heads encircling peonies above the foot-rim and on the shoulder. Band of black swirls on the deep green on the shoulder, mouth under a strong iron red glaze.
The jar comes with the superbly carved openwork dark-wood shaped stand of the later date, most probably executed in early 20th century.
UV- and daylight pictures included.
Dimensions: total height (on the stand) - 17,4 cm; height without the stand - 11,3 cm; diameter – c. 9,7 cm. Weight (without the stand) - 281 g.
Provenance (according to the last owner): the jar comes from the estate of prof. Christoph Schwarzenburg (1899-1971), ophthalmologistat in the Paulun Hospital in Shanghai in the first half of the 20th c., when he purchased the jar, which has been in the family's possession till 2026. Unfortunatelly no documents presented to me.
Conditions report: excellent condition, small chips to the foot rim only, no other damages. Minimal use-related scratches to the glaze and painted decor. Minor firing and painting imperfections. Check pictures for details.
