Great helmet mask with great expression.
These helmet masks are still worn at harvest rituals, initiation rites for men and funerals. They are only made by blacksmiths, because only they have the secret knowledge and ability to force the spirit realm into the mask.
The mask has clearly been exposed to insects. On the left is a crack which has been filled on the site. The patina shows that the mask has ‘lived’ for many years.
