An antique miniature of these cups which originated in Nuremberg in the 17th century, they were called "Jungfraubecher" and were used in wedding banquets, where the spouse drinks from the bigger cup, the bride drinks from the smaller cup simultaneously, with the aim of not spilling a drop. The hallmarks are at the back along the edge of the skirt. This would perhaps make an unusual antique topper for a wedding cake today. Please have a look at the photos as these also form part of the description and this is the item you will receive.
