Cragganmore 12 Years Old two-part label
Nose: Pale hay – Very light… a bit of ground peanuts
Palate: Hazelnut and milk chocolate. Peanut butter, lavender, floral honey.
Finish: Sweet processed honey. Nice oak tannins, small bitter note.
Trails off with hazelnut skins.
Overall: Mild and inoffensive. No smoke, no fruit, just a soft cereal character and light accents of florals and nuts
Oban 14-year-old is just straight-up yummy, balanced and beautiful, multifaceted without being aggressive. There’s tons of fruit and pastry, but just enough peat to keep the stuff from coming off as saccharine.
The Western Highland representative in Diageo's 'Classic Malt' series, Oban 14yo is a superb, full-blooded fruity malt with a whiff of heather and a hint of smoke.
