Jem - Vase (1) - Glass

Description
Jem - Vase (1) - Glass
France

Rare glass vase with painted decoration featuring a pair of budgerigars on their swing on a pinkish background, signed JEM at the base. This glassmaker was a pupil of François Théodore Legras who died in 1916, one of the four master glassmakers at the Foundation of Art Nouveau with Gallé, Daum and Lalique. His nephew, Charles Legras, took over the business. The signatures were then “Legras” or “Pantin” or even “Legras Cie St-Denis”, “Sargel”, “Leg” or “JEM”. Note the presence of a light crack at the back of the vase, but not visible from the front. Very careful shipping with tracking.
