Antique lucky charm capital, hand-carved in limestone. These kinds of capitals were frequent in Southern Italy old houses (end of 19th century/early 20th century) to keep away troubles. Each religious family had one of them, created at their own choice. They were usually put facing the chimney, under a balcony or on a stone capital.
