Pieter ten Cate (Scherpenzeel 1869 - Zutphen 1937).
Pieter was a painter and artist of landscapes and still lifes.
He received his degree at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (The Hague) where he received a degree from H.O. from Thol and W.B. Tholen. Pieter ten Cate became famous for his beautiful scenery and realistic still life.
He lived until 1897 in De Wijk, then one year in The Hague for his education at the academy. In 1898 he went to Apeldoorn. From 1913 he lived and worked in Zutphen. There he took lessons from G.H. Breitner.
Pieter ten Cate was a member of Arti et Amicitiae (Amsterdam).
