Marie-Jeanne van de Velde is a contemporary Flemish artist. Born with an artistic eye and a passion for painting and handicrafts. Her path as an artist is multidisciplinary and covers a broad spectrum. Her career began as a professional painter in 1988 and in the meantime she became a gifted ceramist who always experimented with new materials and techniques.
Marie-Jeanne makes sculptures, ceramic objects, and jewellery. But she also still paints, draws, cuts and glues. You will usually find her working in her studio in Ronse.
Attracted by the abstract, but also by figurative, she seeks a solution between the two. She is also attracted by the artists of "COBRA", and inspired by that movement she makes new creatures on canvas and in her sculptures.
