Though this print has significant damages, the composition is largely unaffected. Notably, several impressions illustrated in online collections also show large damages, e.g that in the Wellcome Collection.
Condition: Fair condition. Print is stuck down, so difficult to see its exact condition. Several large creases, or tears. Small holes, stains and foxing. See photos.

Nicolas Beatrizet (1507/15-1573) was a French printmaker, who was working in Rome around 1540-1565. Between 1547 and 1560 he produced plates directly for Lafrery, but also other plates by Beatrizet later came into the hands of Lafrery
Girolamo Muziano (born ca 1530 near Brescia & died in Rome in 1592) was an Italian painter, draughtsman and print publisher, who worked closely with engravers, especially Beatrizet and Cort,
