José Lupiañez, magnificent Andalusian painter and master Carlos de Haes’ favourite student. Following the politics of his teacher, he painted all his works from nature, mostly landscapes.

This beautiful work belongs to the period where he stayed in La Granja, Rascafría, in sick leave. He retired there so that his ailments were attenuated by the cold and healthy air of The Guadarrama.

He painted many works of this type. It belongs to a very defined period in his painting.
