Incense burner - patinated bronze - elephant, birds, branches - Japan - Meiji period (1868-1912).

Old and large incense burner in patinated bronze, with overlaid decoration of birds on branches and the handle of the lid is an elephant.


Restoration on the handle of the lid (see photo), with a small bit missing on one of the tusks and a small chip on the elephant's ear. All the same, it's still a beautiful piece, very decorative and still functioning, if necessary.
