Outstanding salt cellar made in Rome in ca. 1820. Upper rim embellished with an openwork rail, square base decorated with palmettes in relief, body decorated with 4 lion’s heads. A masterpiece of the Roman silversmithing tradition. Height approx. 7.5 cm, base 4 x 4 cm. Weight 55 grams.Provenance: from an important Florentine collection.
