The wooden ducks were designed by Hans Bolling in 1959 under the name Duck and Duckling. The inspiration was a family of ducks that held up traffic in Copenhagen that year. It happened when the family decided to wiggle through traffic during rush hour. Fortunately there was a cop who stopped traffic, so the duck family could cross the road unharmed. This moment reached newspaper headlines and broke the hearts of many Danes, including Hans Bolling's. Inspired by the story he designed the ducks. They are made of teak wood, the large duck measures 18 cm and the smaller one 9 cm.
Beautiful set with a nice story.
This original Duck and Duckling still look good for their age. The large duck has a glued split foot, glue in the neck and a dent in the body. Both have damaged beaks.
The ducks will be packaged with care and shipped registered with track & trace.
Pick-up is possible by appointment within four weeks after the auction.
