Jan Bleys, born on 1st December, 1868 in Hoorn.
Passed away on 17th August, 1952 in Amsterdam.
He attended the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunst in Amsterdam.
He painted and drew figures, landscapes, and still lifes. He illustrated books and magazines.
Like his brother Adrianus, he was a pupil of his father Adrianus Cyriacus Bleys.
This beautiful pastel has been reframed with a wooden frame that is light gray in colour, the mat is dark gray, together with the pastel it is a beautiful whole, and can easily be hung on the wall.
On the photos with the frame you can see some shadow spots that are due to the reflection of the glass.
