The Finnish designer Lisa Johansson-Pape (1907-1989) had a long and varied career in lighting, furniture, textiles and ceramic design. She was one of Finland's leading lighting designers in the 20th century and played an important role in promoting Finnish design internationally.
Lisa Johansson-Pape, born in 1907, studied at the Industrial Art Institute in Helsinki University of Art & Design (now Aalto University of Art & Design), graduated in 1928. She worked as a furniture designer for Kylmäkoski and Stockmann and created rugs for the Friends of Finnish Handicraft, before focusing on lighting design.
From 1942 she worked with the Stockmann factory in Orno, she said "I just happened to become a design light artist. I was trained as a furniture designer, but I had to make lamps during the war. "
Its condition corresponds with the age and the use, so it is in vintage condition, with multiple scratches, stains, and damage to the varnish, and oxidation to the varnish. Also, it seems like it is slightly curved around the edge.
All of the photos provide a very good impression of this lot.
