On the canvases of Theo Koster (1952) landscapes can be seen full of graphic and painterly elements. By using different kinds of paint and processing different materials as pieces of printed paper, a mysterious world of colour and shape is introduced. Small elements such as a stamped figure, an arrow or a written word are part of a symbolic visual language.
This creates an exciting image, which cannot be put into words. Koster's canvases tell a painterly story, in which the viewer can freely associate.
