1930s-1940s, about 80 years old.
Classical pattern for Karabach - this characteristic necklace of 4 linked patterns. The purple is special and has beautiful 'abrash'.
Abrash is the phenomenon that the wool has a little different colour every time, with many nuances. It's not faded, but because the wool is painted in small amounts, the batches differ a little every time.
You can also see that the colours of the wool are in the rows in which it's knotted.
This is a popular characteristic for collectors.
This carpet has (very special) a camel colour, made of camel wool.
Also see the last photo - the 'plants' are stylised depictions of Simorgh the mythical firebird. In many variations. Very nice
This is a very nice item.
The edges are pristine and original; minimal wear at the top.
Beautiful pile. No bald spots.
Clean, doesn't need washing and is ready to use.
