You are bidding on an x-rare idol carved from a slice of white marble.
Very schematic features with a large abdomen (possibly representing pregnancy), breasts, T-shaped face in the typical south arabian style.
The material it's made of is almost transparent so when you put the object face the light you can see through it!
Mines of marble are located in Yemen but studies tell that this type of material, used still today for building mosques, has been imported from Greece (Macedonia).
Coming from the Arabian peninsula, most probably Yemen. A parallel made of different stone can be seen in the last picture (courtesy collection P.P., Florence).
In compliance with the Italian law, the object is accompanied by an export license and can therefore be sold and shipped outside Italy.
