BABYLONIAN CYLINDRICAL SEAL
Rare hematite cylinder seal from the Babylonian period.
It features two fantastic characters standing face to face, half-men and half-animal. One of them is winged, the other has a long neck and several legs. Behind one of the characters, a smaller, four-legged animal.
Mesopotamia, Babylonian period, around the 2nd millennium BC.
Length 2.9 cm - diameter 1.3 cm

Provenance: Former Canadian collection, acquired in the 1960/80s.
