Luciano Bernasconi (aka: Lube and Saint Germain) was born in Rome in 1939. After a stay in Brazil, where he created drawings for advertising publications, he returned to Italy and from 1959 to 1964 he prepared the pencil plates for Carlo Cedroni, drawer of the Roman agency Barbato-Mancini, who was in charge of the comic book production for the publisher Lug of Lyon. In the same period he also had occasional collaborations, always for pencil plates, with Alberto Giolitti, Ruggero Giovannini, Gino Guida, Nevio Zeccara. In 1966 he started his collaboration with the magazine Attak, for Europer Edizioni in Rome, creating pencil and Indian ink plates.
He currently lives in Umbria.

In his erotic illustrations, Luciano Bernasconi signs himself Saint Germain, inspired by the Count of Saint-Germain (1712? - Eckernförde, 27 February 1784) who was an alchemist, Freemason, great initiate and French adventurer, an important figure at the French court, who lived in the 18th century in Europe and a great lover of the most beautiful women of that time.
