Bought by the present owner from a private Swiss collection on 11/11/2013. Previously NEFER Gallery in Zurich.

Head of the Goddess Hathor, depicted with a brad collar and a Sheshat systrum-capital on top of her head.

The pedestal is missing. Sold with certificate of authenticity.
The seller guarantees that this lot has been obtained legitimately.

Here we have a type of votive sistrum, not to be used as a musical instrument, but to be used as a symbol to deflect every and any danger to the Pregnant woman and the children. This piece was probably part of a decoration on furniture so it could have prophylactic properties and protect the owner of the object.
