Philip Grégory Needell (1886-1974) – Paysage - Landscape.
Pastel "Paysage" - Hand-signed - Circa: 1930

Philip Grégory NEEDELL (1886-1974) painted the pastel “Paysage - Landscape” circa 1930. The pastel on paper is in absolute new condition. The frame and mat have been completely adapted in the style of pastel, making it a very unique piece of work. The depth and the shadow as the incidence of light have also been incorporated in the pastel by Philip Grégory NEEDELL in a special way, as if the painted lifelike is reflected.

Philip Grégory NEEDELL attended Regent Street Polytechnic in London. During the war of 1914-1918 he served in the British Navy. From 1920 to 1939 he travelled extensively to France as he often did from 1949 to 1963. He often painted the coasts of Dieppe, Collioure and Martigues.
