Paul Overhaus (Amsterdam 1935 - 2014)
Wooden shadowbox frame (without glass).
Condition: In very good condition.
Studied at the RBK in Amsterdam and at the Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerp. He was Lector at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam from 1968-1987. His voluminous oeuvre includes paintings, pastels, gouaches, drawings and woodcuts with the primary themes portrait and landscape. In addition he makes monumental commissions, such as murals, plaster relief walls, mosaics, stained-glass windows and tile panels.
His fascination with the sea, the mudflats, the dunes, and the cloudy skies is the basis for the form-language that can be found in all his work. Overhaus has developed into a versatile artist. In doing so, it’s not easy to place him in a certain style. His work has been in numerous exhibitions over the years. Among others he exhibited woodcuts in the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
The work will be delivered directly by our art gallery.
