Large-nosed mask from the Rai shamans living in the Terai lower plains of south-east Nepal. These shaman rites serve to heal or to enchant sick people, according to the animist beliefs of the Himalayan populations.
The nose is prominent, the eyes almond-shaped and the mouth in a figure of eight. The expression is quite frightening.
