In excellent condition, a very special art object by Italian designer Alessandro Mendini (1931–2019), who passed away last year and by German designer Daniel Eltner (1970). Both names can be found on the side of the art object, see the close-up photos.

Measurements: Height 37 cm x Width 16.5 cm x Depth 11 cm.

Background information on both designers:

Alessandro Mendini (1931–2019) - He was an Italian architect and designer, author and architect. He played an important part in the development of Italian design. He also worked for the magazines Casabella, Modo and Domus.

After studying architecture at the Politecnico in Milan, Mendini was editor-in-chief at several professional magazines, in which he reflected his ideas on architecture and art. In the seventies, he was one of the most important personalities in the 'Radical Design' protest movement. He was co-founder of the Global Tools group in 1973.

In 1977 he became a member of Alchimia, an avant-gardist designer group. In 1989, he founded design studio Mendini, together with his brother Francesco.

In the Netherlands, Mendini designed the Groninger Museum and the interior of the 'Koploper' train set. He designed multiple utensils for Alessi and Venini. Source: Wikipedia.


Daniel Eltner (1970) - He was born in Erlangen, Germany and graduated from the university of applied sciences in Munich.

After his study, he founded his own studio in 1994, 'Destudioeltner', where he focuses on product design for many companies, such as Rosenthal, Sabattini Argenteria, WMF, Longchamp, Moser, Vista Alegre and Microsoft.

In 2015, the German designer started a skilled collaboration with architect and designer Alessandro Mendini, together with whom he created the 'Diavoletti Family' vases, for Cappellini Italy.
