Iron tetsubin-kettle decorated with a stylized crane-bird low relief, the knob at the lid is in the shape of a pine-cone. With a rare crane design because is situated around the top rim of the kettle.
Signed at the side: Shōmindō by the maker or the studio.
On the backside of the lid an occasional inscription census of Showa 30 d.i. 1955 by the city of Inazawa (in Aichi).
This kettle has been tested for water leakage. There is no leakage.
