Very fine, distinctly detailed bronze sculpture depicting a seated man with a book in his hand. In his book you can read the text: "Lois d' Athenes". The sculpture stands on a beautifully shaped marble base with bronze decorative edge.
Presumably it depicts the Greek legislator Draco. Awarded by the nobility with extraordinary powers, he presumably codified Athenian criminal law around 624 BC.
The sculpture is beautifully decorated; look at the man’s hair, his facial expression and the detailed clothing and seat
The sculpture is in very good condition and has a beautiful, warm patina. The photos give a good impression of this beautiful sculpture.
