Roman Legionary heavy solid silver ring with oval raised bezel, linear decorations on the shoulder and ring band.
The bezel shows a large Legionary standard with on top the Legionary Eagle 'Aquila' between two smaller standards.
The eagle was a powerful symbol to the Roman military. With each Roman legion a special eagle-bearer (aquilifer) had the honor of carrying the Legionary Eagle standard into battle and to guard its existence.
