A beautiful standing wooden relief from the 80s by the English pop-art painter, sculptor and printmaker Joe Tilson (1928).
The wooden relief is in a wooden box accompanied by a paper supplement that explains the four vinyl LP records "Degli snaarinstrumenten" with a text by Gillo Dorfles and William Weaver and the ‘Deutsche Grammophon’.
Published by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Advertising Division from Milan Italy.
The wooden gift box is a limited edition and produced by Mondadori for Christmas 1983 for its main major customers.

Joseph Charles Tilson RA (1928) is an English pop art painter, sculptor and graphic artist. In the 1960s Tilson became one of the leading figures in connection with the British pop art movement.
Tilson used his previous experience as a carpenter and furniture maker and produced wooden reliefs and constructions, as well as prints and paintings. As a student at the RCA Tilson connected to Frank Auerbach, Leon Kossoff, R. B. Kitaj, Peter Blake, Allen Jones, Patrick Caulfield and David Hockney. Tilson lives and works in London and Italy.
