Beautiful, early KEUR BIBLE from 1688. With 6 small Keur maps by Bastiaan Stoopendaal, including world map. Frequently God's name in the marginal notes in the form of 'JEHOVAH'.

Including: series of 6 geographical maps by Bastiaan Stoopendaal, after the maps of Nicolaes Visscher (1663), incl. world map, bird view Jerusalem, etc.

DESCRIPTION: 3 Parts in 1 binding; engraved title engraving (24) 332 (2) 144 (14) 169, blank (2) 58 folia; with 'Apocryphe Boecken'. In folio (L: 39 x 27 x 12 cm). Calf leather over wooden flats; line frames and medallion in blind stamping on the flats, spine over 6 ribs. Copper corners, locks, mutineers, starters.

CONDITION: Original bookbinding with original spine, small restoration marks and small spot (of fire?) on front plate; later flyleafs. Sturdy, even book block. Complete set of cards, slightly spotty. Through the Bible light (moisture) spotty, lightly browned pages, 2 corner pieces missing (verso-side). Personal rating: 7.5/10.
