Complete with 394 hand-coloured engraved plates (not numbered) by Benjamin Fawcett, with detailed and anecdotal text concerning each bird.
Take note: This one of the nicest versions because many of the birds are placed in a decorative hand-coloured little landscape.
Including the illustrations, more than 2,000 pp.
In the original decorative fabric bindings and full-page hand-coloured illustrations as called for.
Each volume has a bright and unique gilded picture with two gilded birds on the front cover and gilded titles on the spine. The back cover has an imprint (not gilded) of the same birds.
Illustrations are printed on trimmed pages. Tekst pages are without trimming.
The binding of all six volumes is in very good condition. Illustrations and pages are in good condition (without tears and hardly any stains).
Overall a perfect and beautiful set.
See the pictures (about 1/3 of all) of the birds. Take note: The colours of the covers don’t look great in the photos (light reflections). They are less shiny and look wonderful in reality.
The set weighs 9.7 kilograms.
