The no. 1 cardboard stereoscope by brand Bruguière dominated the French market for children’s stereo viewers in the 1940s/50s.
Its stereoscope is equipped with an optical slide with a cardboard eyepiece allowing to look at a stereo view (positive) of 45 x 107, in other words in 3D.
The first views or positives were in black and white. The celluloid holder is inserted into a clear plastic "sandwich" that is barely rigid. The current flaw in many of these views is that they have warped. The catalogue offered topics as varied as the Côte d'Azur, Lourdes or Cirque Bouglione. Each box contained 12 small plates.
This is in perfect condition in its original packaging as are the 4 boxes of positives 45-107: Biarritz (complete, 12 views), le Cirque Bouglione (complete, 12 views), Parc zoologique (minus 1) and carnaval de nice (complete, 12 views). No views are warped.
