A large red lacquered suit-of-armour (oyoroi) with a two-piece cuirass and green and red cords with an orange hem (hisuso odoshi nimaido yoroi). A large hoshikabuto-helmet with large connected antlers (kuwagata) with in between a round full moon maedate and large fukikaeshi decorated with ’smoked leather’. The helmet has one large neck guard (shikoro) and an orange tassel at the back. An ‘‘old man’ facial mask with a black moustache (resseibō), a separate noose-piece and a four-piece gorget (nodawa). Large and broad seven-piece sode with orange tassels protect the shoulders. The two piece bucket shaped cuirass (okegawa nimaido) consists of vertical laced itazane-plates. In front of the cuirass hang two orange tassels. From the cuirass hangs a six part five-piece kusazuri-skirt. The armoured sleeves (kote) are protected with Japanese mail and vertical metal strips over yellow brocade with floral motives (shinokote). Haidate with laced red metal pieces (karuta) protect the upper legs. Vertical metal strips protect the lower legs (shinosuneate).The red greaves that protect the lower legs consist of three laced metal plates (dosuneate). With a brocade waist band and a black lacquered store box (yoroibako). Early Showa, maybe Taisho period. In perfect original condition. We will add a certificate or origin when shipping.
