An impressive alms dish made of copper with a repoussé decoration of a large Tudor rose in the center, surrounded by a double border of stylized "eye" patterns and dots. The "eye" patterns are encircled by a stamped dotted decoration. The edge is folded over a wrought iron band for strengthening, as usual.
A typical alms dish that was produced in the city of Mechelen (Flanders) but made for the English market. 17th century.
Beautiful patina, some wear around the edges as usual.
