An attractive bronze okimono 置物 featuring two temple lions engaging in playful antics with an open-work ball, called 'temari.'手毬, attached to a decorative cord gracefully falling down.
One lion lies on its back, amusingly toying with the ball on its belly, while the other playfully leaps on top.
Cast bronze patinated dark green with intentional rust-coloured accents. In 3 parts. Lying shishi with an illegible 2-character seal.
Period: Japan – Taishô period (1912-1926).
