There is now one guy who has managed to bypass this Bordeaux system, producing on 1er Grand Cru classé quality level at very reasonable prices, much lower than the hundreds of euros the Chateaux expect for their top wines. He has built along years privileged relationships with vinyards owners and is allowed to farm these and produce his own wines. And which wines: His Saint Emilion Grand Cru is made from vinyards belonging to Chateau Cheval Blanc!!! His Sauternes is made from vinyards belonging to Chateau d'yquem!!! His Pomerol is made from vinyards neighbouring Chateau Petrus!!!
