An appealing medium-sized six-panel byôbu 屏風 (folding screen) showcasing a refined Rinpa School-style painting featuring a peaceful assembly of four cranes 鶴 (tsuru). These cranes are standing amidst pine tree samplings 松 (matsu), all set against a backdrop of a serene ambiance, enriched by translucent gold-flecked clouds. This calming depiction bears a resemblance to the artistic approach of the Rinpa School, celebrated for its focus on tranquillity and the beauty of nature. Signed and sealed in the lower left right corner “Takane” 孝嶺. The screen is framed in black lacquered wood, complete with protective hardware. Period: Japan – Taishô period/Early Shôwa period (First half 20th century). Dimensions Total width: 277.6 cm (2 x 47.6 and 4 x 45.6 cm); Height: 121.9 cm. In a very good restored condition with some minor traces of wear conform age. Please look at the photos for a clear condition reference.
