Very large, impressive wooden kanban 看板 (shop sign) advertising a prized sake. In the centre in black letters the name of the sake brewery covering a golden emblem: ‘Kamotsuru’ 賀茂鶴 flanked by a pair of flying cranes – the last character of their name means crane 鶴 (tsuru).
Carved from heavy Keyaki wood (Zelkova - Japanese oak) with polychromy and gilding.
The sides mention the sake brewery again, and on the left a store licensed to sell said sake.
