Gilt lettering pieces within dark brown label to compartment two. Marbled endpapers and all page edges. Light wear to boards’ corners, edges, and to head, and tail of spine. Internally, in very good condition. Vestige of removed contemporary label to front paste-down endpaper. Name/ink inscription to verso front free-endpaper page. Inner hinges are very good and pages are tightly held at gutters. Pages are very clean. Vaux's knowledge was large and varied, more especially in all that related to oriental antiquities.
