Renaissance, Styx - Novella / Kilroy Was Here - 2 x 1st JAPAN PRESS - Vinylplaat - 1ste persing, Japanse persing - 1977

1.) Renaissance – Novella Vinyl, LP, Album, Gatefold - 1st Japanese Pressing - 1977 - Japan - Warner Bros. Records – P-10492W Media: EX / Sleeve, Insert & OBI: VG+ to NM A1 Can You Hear Me? 13:37 A2 The Sisters 7:13 B1 Midas Man 5:43 B2 The Captive Heart 4:13 B3 Touching Once (Is So Hard To Keep) 9:26 “Novella” is the seventh studio album of Renaissance and was released in 1977. The line up on the album is Annie Haslam, Michael Dunford, John Tout, Jon Camp and Terence Sullivan. The album has also the participation of Richard Hewson. During the period of 1977 and 1978, when bands such as Yes, Genesis, Gentle Giant and Emerson, Lake & Palmer fell part way or whole way into pop, Renaissance managed to come up with a great progressive album “Novella”, in 1977, and one very good album “A Song For All Seasons”, in 1978. “Novella” represents the final flowering of Renaissance at their creative peak. 2.) Styx – Kilroy Was Here Vinyl, LP, Album, Stereo, Gatefold - 1st Japanese Pressing - 1983 - Japan - A&M Records – AMP-28068 Media: NM to MINT / Sleeve, Insert & OBI: NM A1 Mr. Roboto 5:28 A2 Cold War 4:25 A3 Don't Let It End 4:54 A4 High Time 4:30 B1 Heavy Metal Poisoning 4:55 B2 Just Can't Get Through This Night 6:07 B3 Double Life 3:37 B4 Haven't We Been Here Before 4:05 B5 Don't Let It End (Reprise) 2:22 Although Dennis DeYoung's concept about man being replaced by robots in the near future failed to get off the ground, Kilroy Was Here still harbored two of the band's best singles. "Don't Let It End" almost captures the same endearing qualities as their number one hit, "Babe," did four years earlier, peaking at number six, and the synthesized novelty of "Mr. Roboto" went all the way to number three, accompanied by a lively and rather extravagant Dennis DeYoung at the helm. It was the song's mechanically spoken chorus and slight disco beat that made it Styx's fifth Top Ten single up to that point, overshadowing the rest of the album's tracks. Pretentious, weakly composed, and rhythmically anemic, songs like "Cold War," "Heavy Metal Poisoning," and "Double Life" couldn't even keep the album's main idea interesting, solidifying the fact that Styx's forte was singles, not conceptual pieces. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ These records have been cleaned with a professional ultrasonic machine. New inner and outer sleeves included. Fast & careful shipping.
