A dramatic Japanese silk embroidery depicting a pair of fighting roosters. One bird is jumping above the other.
The name in Japan for the real fighting rooster is “shamo”（シャモ）
This art piece presents a range of asian textile arts with rich earthy colors and scintillating patterns.
Nicely framed and behind glass. Framed by art dealer, bookbinder and frame maker "P.L.M. Roger" in Soerabaja, Indonesia. In that time a colony of the Netherlands (1800-1945) and known as the Dutch East Indies (Nederlands: Nederlands(ch)-Indië) or (Indonesian: Hindia Belanda).
