Obi is a long decorative sash to hold kimono in place and upgrades kimono itself. Recently, many Japanese people don’t wear traditional Kimono frequently, so some use beautiful obi belts as decorations in their rooms or as fabric for clothing etc. “Nagoya obi” is very compact and easy to tie because it is shorter and lighter than “fukuro obi” and it is stitched beforehand.
