2011 Barberani Aleatico Passito - Umbrië - 3 Jennies (0.5L)

Aleatico is a traditional vine from the hills of Lake Corbara, of ancient Etruscan origin. The vermilion red grapes, with dense and fragrant pulp, slowly wither on the vine during the windy lakeside September. With refinement it acquires an extraordinary complexity and a sweet and intense aroma. • Vineyard extension: approximately 1.5 ha • Exposure: North-East • Altitude: 200-300 above sea level • Soil: Sedimentary, with the presence of marine fossils, pebbles and limestone agglomerates • Training system: Double Guyot • Planting density: 4,500 vines per hectare • Yield per hectare: approximately 30 quintals • Harvest: Manual • Harvest period: September • Fermentation: With native yeasts, in steel for 20 days • Fermentation temperature: 25-30 °C • Malolactic fermentation: Spontaneous, with indigenous bacteria • Agriculture: Biodynamically inspired. In our vineyards we do not use herbicides. We do not use pesticides. Fertilizations are carried out with biodynamic preparations, burial of shoots and green manure of herbs and legumes. • Age of the vines: 30 years • Color: Intense ruby red • Perfume: Fruity aromas, hints of red berries and jam • Flavour: Apricot and citrus fruits, jam and almond, sweet and persistent, fine and elegant • Pairing: It goes well with fruit tarts, almond and walnut desserts, dry pastries. Also excellent at the end of a meal accompanied by chocolate, cigars and a pipe • Serving temperature: 12-14 °C Exclusive sale in EEC countries
