It offers a beautiful deep ruby red color with on the nose, fresh and intense aromas of black and red fruits, blackberries, morello cherries and raspberries, with smoky notes, violet and licorice. On the palate, the attack is frank and fleshy, firm but with a lot of freshness.
The name “Clos des Mouches” comes from the hives that this clos housed and the bees formerly called “honey flies”. It is one of the very first vineyards acquired by Maurice Drouhin in the 1920s, which he managed to create with around forty different plots. It is planted in red and white, in equal parts.
