Excellent provenance from distributor. - the house of Hutcheson, Feuerheerd & Associates Feuerheerd was founded in 1815 by the German trader Dietrich Feuerheerd born in Hamburg who sold cattle, fruit, wood and textiles as well as Port. Feuerheerd was one of the leading houses which held grapes from single quintas separated during the 19th century; such as Quinta do Roncão, Quinta do Bom Retiro and Quinta de Zimbro. In 1881 the firm was limited to Port and was bought by Barros Almeida in 1926. Hutcheson was founded in 1881 by the British wine merchant Thomas Page Hutcheson and Alexander Davidson Taylor (a scion of the Taylor’s Port family). Thomas Hutcheson retired in 1920 and Augustus G. Bouttwood became a new partner. In 1925 Taylor died and Bouttwood sold the House in 1927 to the Barros family. In 1996, Feuerheerd Bros was merged with Hutcheson to became Hutcheson, Feuerheerd & Associates. In 2006 when Sogevinus bought Barros, this company was included.
