Japanese painter. A Japanese painter who was mainly active during the Taisho period. There is also a theory that he was born in 1872 (Meiji 5). There are also two theories about his birthplace: Tsuda Nishimachi, Tokushima City, and Higashisenba, Tokushima City. His maiden name was Hamakawa, and it is said that he later inherited the surname Dan. His real name was Isaku, his character was Shikei, and his other name was Tomoaki. His common name was Hideo, later Hideo. At first he studied with Tokushima-based painters Aika Tada and Ai Yoshinaga, but later moved to Tokyo and studied under Gyokusho Kawabata. Since the end of the Meiji period, he has exhibited his work in numerous exhibitions and won numerous awards.
The tip of the hanging scroll is made of pottery.
