Large Japanese Taiko drum. Its body is made of solid pine wood. On both sides the drum skins are fastened by two rows of dome-shaped rivets. The body is equipped with sturdy rings with cross-shaped backplates. With 2 drumsticks. The skins are in nice and operational condition. When struck, the drum creates a strong and clear sound. Approx. size: Height 40.5 cm, Diameter 47 cm. Showa period (1926-1989) The taiko drum is in a very good condition with some traces of use. Please look at the photos for a condition reference. In Japanese, the term taiko refers to any kind of drum, but outside Japan, it is used specifically to refer to any of the various Japanese drums called wadaiko (和太鼓, lit. "Japanese drums").
