Introduction

This auction features a powerful Edox Chronoffshore 1 (Ref. 01114), a high-performance Swiss chronograph designed for the demanding world of offshore powerboat racing. Known for its over-engineered specifications and bold aesthetic, this timepiece combines luxury finishing with the ruggedness required for professional marine environments. It is a standout choice for enthusiasts of oversized, technical sports watches.

Historical / Era context

The Chronoffshore 1 collection was born from Edox's long-standing partnership with the Class-1 World Powerboat Championship, often referred to as the "Formula 1 of the seas." This specific model reflects that heritage with its "Powerboat" and "Class-1" engravings on the case back, alongside a propeller motif. Since its introduction in the early 2010s, the series has become a cornerstone of Edox’s modern catalog, emphasizing high pressure resistance and functional precision.

Condition

The watch is running properly.
Movement: The automatic movement is in good working order. All chronograph functions, including the center seconds, minute accumulator, and hour accumulator, have been tested and reset correctly. The day-date complication also functions as intended.
Case: The stainless steel case is in good condition, showing light surface marks and scratches consistent with regular use. The white ceramic bezel remains highly attractive and provides excellent scratch resistance.
Dial & Crystal: The white dial with its distinct sub-dials and silver-tone indices is in excellent condition. The sapphire crystal is clear and well-preserved.
Band: Fitted with a brand new aftermarket black leather strap with a crocodile-grain pattern.
Note: The helium escape valve at the 10 o'clock position has not been tested for functionality. As this is a pre-owned timepiece, water resistance is not guaranteed.
