Two paintings conceived as a dialogue between opposing voices.

The dark and dense, poses the question outward — “Are U Alone?” — a figure trapped in a frame, surrounded by the noise of a crowded world that still feels empty.

The white and clear turns the question inward — “Am I Alone?” — the same solitary figure adrift in open, pale space, unmoored among scattered fragments.

Together they explore the tension between loneliness felt from the outside and loneliness felt from within — two sides of the same silence.

Henrique MAPS (1994) is a contemporary visual artist working in painting and mixed media. His work combines figurative and abstract elements to explore identity, social structures, and cultural observation through bold compositions featuring humans, animals, and symbolic imagery.

Working primarily with acrylics, chinese ink, drawing, and collage on canvas, MAPS creates psychologically charged paintings characterized by layered textures, graphic elements, and recurring motifs of eyes, hands, and silhouettes.

His culturally conscious practice examines contemporary social dynamics while drawing inspiration from diverse artistic traditions including urban art, modernism, and expressionism.
