幽林 (Yūrin, Japanese for ghostly forest) is a large, atmospheric painting that suggests a forest seen through dusk or fog. Deep, almost black-green tones settle in the centre of the canvas, surrounded by softer, desaturated greens and earth colours that dissolve toward the top and bottom. The image remains deliberately ambiguous: it may read as distant tree lines, a shaded valley or simply a dense band of shadow hovering in space.

The surface is built from many diluted layers of chromium oxide green, raw sienna and yellow ochre, allowing the pigments to soak into the weave of the canvas. Faint horizontal traces, soft transitions and small irregular marks remain visible, like branches half-hidden in mist or undergrowth disappearing into shade. These unpolished details embody a wabi-sabi sensibility: beauty in imperfection, in partial visibility and in the quiet record of time and process.
